THIS IS THE ULTIMATE SEA TOURING KAYAK. THE R51 IS THE FASTEST OF THE RAPID KAYAK SERIES AND A TRUE PERFORMANCE KAYAK.

The R51 was designed to be lightweight and equally durable. This is achieved using the finest linear, HDPE polyethylene plastic and ultra-violet inhibitors blended to prevent the plastic breaking down in the sun.

Rapid Kayaks have ensured that this kayak comes with all the very best accessories including the signature Rapid Bucket Seat and generous sized hatches, as well as the very important SmartTrack rudder system.

A great benefit of this kayak is the smarttrak rudder system. A rudder is for those that want to maneuver a craft and makes a kayak much faster as the paddler can use the paddle to move faster through the water as the rudder will steer them along. We use the SmartTrack rudder system and we believe this is the best on the market due to the reliability and ease of handling. The blade which is foil shaped, teamed with the rudder head which is sturdy and the pedal system which adjusts with ease. Using the SmartTrack system is first class.

Although often a Sea Kayak is less manoeuvrable than other styles of kayaks, the R51 Rapid series was built with a dash of surf ski style manoeuvrability and so handles this more easily than some of its counterparts and it is super fast.
