We are an Australian owned company committed to producing a high quality, affordable range of kayaks to the Australian public. We produce these kayaks to meet the harsh Australian climate using AUS .4766 UV stabilized LLDPE polyethylene plastic. Our aim is to provide a range of fishing kayaks, sea kayaks and recreational kayaks for the beginner to intermediate paddler.
We have put together a quick guide on the benefits and differences between our Weekend Warrior Range. The 2 main areas we focus on are:
Sit on Top Kayak or Sit in kayak
Recreational, Fishing or Touring Kayak
There are so many things to think about when you are buying a kayak and there is no single kayak that is perfect for every activity. One of the first questions we get asked in our store is “should I get a sit in kayak or a sit on top kayak? This is a personal decision and we will explain the benefits and differences now in these styles.
Sit on Top Kayak (SOT)
Sit on Top (SOT) kayaks are when the seats are above water level and allows the paddler to sit on top of the kayak deck with your legs exposed, where everything is rigged out on top of the kayak. These are typically a wider, shorter body and slower than traditional kayaks to paddle but are extremely stable.
It is harder to stay dry on a SOT kayak but with Australia’s warm climate these are a very popular style.

Sit in Kayak
Sit in Kayaks have an open hollow cockpit where your legs are under the deck as the paddler climbs in and sits inside the hull of the kayak. The primary advantage of sit in kayaks include a much drier ride for you with the ability to use a spray skirt on most models. There is also a lot more dry storage space.
Many people are concerned about flipping a Sit in Kayak, but these are really not that easy to flip. Whether sit in or sit on, the flipping factor has more to do with the kayak shape and hull design.
